How to Make Your Mornings Hassle Free

Mornings can easily be a crazy time for single moms. While you are trying to tie one kids shoes, the other one can’t find his socks (that were laid out perfectly the night before, according to him), and you still have to pack lunches and look presentable at work. If this sounds like your morning, this article is for you. Morning don’t have to end with a mad dash out the door followed by a prayer that your boss won’t be mad when you arrive late again. Follow these easy tips to make your mornings a breeze:
  1. Lay out clothes the night before. Make sure that everyone has their clothes laid out, including socks and underwear. This includes you, mom. Lay out your clothes, pick out your accessories and don’t forget to include your make up.
  2. Pre plan breakfast. Already know what you will be doing the next morning and plan your meal accordingly. If you know the next morning is going to be particularly hectic because you have to leave earlier than usual, pick up some breakfast shakes the kids can drink as they get ready or in the car.
  3. Precook your breakfast. There are literally hundreds of recipes on the internet for breakfast casseroles, etc. Many of these meals can be precooked, and then stored in the refrigerator or freezer. Then, all you have to do is take them out and pop them in the oven while you get dressed.
  4. Get up earlier than your children. While this already happens in most households, you may be so exhausted that it just isn’t happening in yours. If it’s at all possible, go to bed a little earlier and make it happen. The dishes and laundry can wait. You, and your sanity, are much more important. Getting up earlier can give you that extra half an hour before you have to wake up the children. This extra bit of time to wake up and drink your morning coffee can be very refreshing, instantly boosting your mood.
  5. Have the book bags by the door. Make sure that your children have their homework done and everything they need for school the next day by the door and ready to go before they head to bed.
  6. Pre pack lunches. Even if you have food that need to be refrigerated, put it all together in the fridge so the next morning all you have to do is grab the food off the shelf and put it in the appropriate lunchbox.
  7. Include your children in all the preparation.. A seven year old can make their own sandwich. While it may take a bit longer, you can get other things done while they are spreading peanut butter. Children can also lay out their clothes, and make sure book bags are ready to go, even at five. Simply double check to make sure nothing is forgotten.
Following these simple tips can easily reduce your morning stress, helping you and your children get out the door in a timely manner with all of you looking and feeling refreshed!
